Waste Dumping Site Is Now A Morning Walk Site
Pimpri-Chinchwad, the twin city of Pune has a landfilling and waste dumping site, called as PCMC Moshi Kachara Depot, spread over 45 acres. For over 50 years, organic and inorganic waste was being dumped at this site. By 2011, the site had filled up completely and there was no space left to add any more waste. The place was a mess with thousands of crows and crores of flies flying over the dumping ground and were also spreading infections into human inhabitations around it.
